The Russian government intends to restore the military-technical support of their ships at the former military base in Cam Ranh (Vietnam), Lourdes (Cuba) and the Seychelles. So far, this is not about plans for a military presence, but rather the restoration of the crew resources. However, a solid contractual basis should be developed for these plans.

Well apparently this came from an admiral and the Russian government later denied it.

Also in this article...
Quote:
The Russian Federation has fulfilled all terms of the agreement. And even more. I shut down not only the Cuban Lourdes but also Kamran in Vietnam. I shut them down because I gave my word of honor. I, like a man, has kept my word. What have the Americans done? The Americans are not responsible for their own words. It is no secret that in recent years, the U.S. created a buffer zone around Russia, involving in this process not only the countries of Central Europe, but also the Baltic states, Ukraine and the Caucasus. The only response to this could be an asymmetric expansion of the Russian military presence abroad, particularly in Cuba. In Cuba, there are convenient bays for our reconnaissance and warships, a network of the so-called "jump airfields." With the full consent of the Cuban leadership, on May 11 of this year, our country has not only resumed work in the electronic center of Lourdes, but also placed the latest mobile strategic nuclear missiles "Oak" on the island. They did not want to do it the amicable way, now let them deal with this," Putin said.

So according to this article, Russia has placed NUKES in Cuba in May.

If you look the nuclear missiles OAK, you won't find anything... BUT...

Russia tests new missile, in warning over US shield

Russia tested a new long-range missile on Wednesday that should improve its ability to penetrate missile defence systems, the military said, in Moscow's latest warning to Washington over deployment of a missile shield in Europe.

Russia usually names its weapons, but the Defence Ministry made no mention of a name for the new missile. It said it could be fired from a mobile launcher.

It wasn't lost in translation, the original article is in Russian.

Anyway, either this is BS...(probably since it was not reported anywhere else) or Obama knew about it and DID NOTHING...

Yeah.. I'd trust Pravda.ru less than Debka. And I'm sure if Putin said anything approaching that quoted portion at the G20 summit in June, it'd be coming from more than one source.. and not almost two months later.

Then again, the Russians managed to keep their still-very-up-to-date Granit tactical/strategi nuclear missile a secret for 20 years... it made all of the US carrier task forces obsolete, and yet for 20 years, it seems the Americans did not know anything about it, or at least they didn't make a sound about it.

The Russians illegally developed strategic nukes

They need army bases on three oceans because their subs and boats are prone to sinking

lol

the idea of "illegality" in the development of weapons, and international law altogether, is a farce. Its all about might, nothing more; only illegal if you dont have the means to defend yourself against aggression.

"Its all about might, nothing more;"

Yes and Russia will get its nuts crushed when Europe starts fracking natural gas and telling Russia to shove it.

They will go bankrupt again.
