I know that most of us here know about this, however, this is unusually mainstream for this topic http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/ticket/fact-....Quote:With the Democratic National Convention in full swing, a number of party leaders are attempting to boost President Barack Obama's re-election effort by asserting that 4.5 million new jobs have been created during his term.
Obama himself has recently claimed more job growth in the past 27 months than President George W. Bush created "during the entire seven years before this crisis."
"Despite incredible odds and united Republican opposition, our president took action, and now we've seen 4.5 million new jobs," San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro said in his keynote address at the DNC on Tuesday night.
That statistic was echoed by virtually all of Tuesday night's speakers, including first lady Michelle Obama, Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick and Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, who previously served as Obama's chief of staff.
However, CNN fact-checked that claim and found it to be "not the whole picture."
Instead, CNN found that there has been a net increase of just 300,000 nonfarm payroll jobs since Obama took office. And if you count government jobs, there are actually 400,000 fewer people working today than in January 2009. When Democrats use the 4.5 million jobs number, they're referring to jobs created after the economy bottomed out in January 2010, one year after Obama took office. That time frame excludes the worst job losses, which took place in 2009, and which many Democrats argue were the result of Bush policies. CNN concludes: "The figure of 4.5 million jobs is accurate if you look at the most favorable period and category for the administration. But overall, there are still fewer people working now than when Obama took office at the height of the recession."
Still, a historical analysis of job growth percentages shows that Obama still fares better than some recent presidents. As of July, Obama is averaging +0.84 percent annual job growth in his term. That places him ahead of Bush, who saw +0.51 percent growth in his first term and -0.84 percent in his second term. Obama is also tracking better than George H.W. Bush, who presided over +0.69 percent growth during his one term in the White House.
However, Obama's job growth percentages trail far behind those of some other recent presidents, including Bill Clinton (+2.60 percent and +1.60 percent), Ronald Reagan (+1.75 percent and +2.53 percent) and even Jimmy Carter (+2.30 percent).

Well, if I just take only the best trades I have ever made, then I'm just a ****ing EPIC trader. The bottom line is this: "There are actually 400,000 fewer people working today than in January 2009" You either have more jobs or less... we have less. The democrats are lying. Shocking. I can ignore my failures too and only tout my successes, but it doesn't make the failures go away.

They'd best be careful. Even the innumerate American electorate can figure out that there are less jobs, for less pay, than there were four years ago. Let alone "4.5 million more"... People don't like being played for the fool.

At this rate it may not be long until the headline reads;
There are now 4.5 million people employed in America.

4.5 million is a big number to most people. Most people are clueless to the total population or how many people are even working. Politicians just take a number and spin it into a lie that 50% of the people just eat up. The hard part for obama is most of those people are already his supporters and the lie isn't helping much with people who know what's going on.

How about a simple list? Say Program Name, Cost, Number of Jobs Created. If they were reality, it would be easy to show this information and further toot their horn. Without it, it's obviously complete and utter BS. But it was on TV, it must be true? That's all they got? Pass...

Dems posit that "this" many jobs have been saved or created during Yobama's tenure. How many private company jobs? Very few. If Yobama and the Fed can create X number of jobs with Y amount of stimulus then why stop at full employment? Both parties proclaim, "Deficits don't matter." If deficits don't matter and government or Fed stimulus truly "creates" jobs, then we need to fully unleash the supernatural power of the Fed and its cronies... We are suffering needlessly... If deficits don't matter and the Yobama administration "created" 4.5 million jobs with 5 trillion dollars then why not spend 100 trillion and create 90 million jobs? The logic of politics is mind blowing... Politicians know that a vast majority of their constituents are clueless... A little factoid. Did you know that the average salary for Federal employees is $100,000/year? Plus full health and pension benefits. On our backs. Republicans and Democrats...the scurge of the earth. How do we get these demons out of our political process?

The majority of the American people have made it clear--they want stuff free, they want other people to pay for it, and they are more than happy to lie through their teeth to make that happen.
The politicians are just giving them what they want.
Think of it as Democracy in Action.

I can't believe the numbers of people that focus on the President "creating" jobs. He's the Chief Executive of the United States! He is in charge of enforcing laws and commanding the military! Since when did/should the President "create" jobs? That's a function of the actual producers in this country: business owners! The President has absolutely nothing to do with creating jobs; if anyone in government does, it's Congress--you know, the body of elected representatives that create and pass legislation. Congress is who should take the credit for "creating" jobs if someone in government must.
I realize this is just more pandering to a populace governed by animal-like emotion. I realize that most folks in this world don't actually think and act rationally and logically. I still fume about just how much airtime is wasted and crap is penned about the President "creating" jobs.

The difficulty of creating a spreadsheet of new jobs to lost jobs is very complicated work. The USA does not have this type of brainpower to properly figure this out. Vote for me!!
