"but if I move it into t-bills, I will have to pay federal tax on the interest"

Why would you worry much about taxes, T MM's aren't yielding much right now.

I'm in VG and moved some $ out of the T MM this past week and they gave me the spiel abt not being able to invest any more $$$ if I close it out, and that I'm limited to $10k /day/month, I wasn't paying much attention...

Stop The Looking Start Prosecuting Bumper Sticker

I'm planning on printing up a bunch of these and will let you know how to get one when I have them in-hand. It will be a removable bumper sticker so that it shouldn't permanently damage your paint.

This is not a get rich quick scheme. This is my little contribution to the Tea Party rebellion. In my day job, I'm an AVP of a publicly traded company and I'll be stuffing envelopes by hand. Email me at montyhigh AT gmail.com (replace " AT " with @") if you would like one of these bumper stickers and would be willing to paypal me a nominal donation, so I have some kind of feeling for how many to get printed.

P.S. I apologize if this is not the right place to post this message. Let me know where the right place is.

PP is wonderful.

They have covered my hiney on some significant purchases on eBay where the seller didn't do right on the transaction --several in the past couple weeks.

Just today I returned a piece of equipment that a major equipment seller screwed up, no communication from them ref damage that was a result of their incompetence, and saved me almost $900. Knock on wood... Money isn't in my hot hands yet...

But, I love PayPal!!!

As an aside, eBay is promoting a phone number to call if you haven't gotten your merchandise or otherwise having problems.

I've called the number [not for help because the automated system really works well for disputes -if you do your part and understand and follow the gudelines you agreed to]

...and within 30 seconds, on 2 occassions in a week, just for doo-doos and giggles, spoke with competent helpful people based in Seattle or San Jose and had pleasant chats with them about their reasons for doing this, the economy, etc, etc.

EBay doesn't want to get a bad rep where people spend $$$ and don't get their stuff. I rarely leave negative feedback but have felt compelled to ~3 times in the past 3 weeks.

One of them I'm going to retract if the seller answers my email where I expressed willingness to do it.

This tells me that the public is getting screwed up dealing with the new economic realities.

A few years back there was a huge stink about Paypal and how they would withdraw money from your bank account on the presumption of fraud, sometimes based on really flimsy evidence. The best advice I ever heard dealing with them is to open a separate checking account with your bank to link to your Paypal account.

Never carry a balance in your Paypal account. Transfer it immediately to your bank account and then move it to your main checking account as soon as the transaction clears.

Oh, not at all. He is a computer nerd, he just says paypal has no security. His standards are a little skewed to the high side on that topic.

A lot of people have been screwed over by Paypal. in their defense, they probably didn't have any idea how much fraud they would have to counter when they got started, but that doesn't help the people who had checks bounce because Paypal clawed back a legitimate payment that looked "suspicious".

If you send money to someone's paypal account with your credit card you are exactly as safe as you are using your credit card online anywhere else. You have all the protections your bank provides.

If you want to receive money via Paypal, your only choice is to minimise your risk with the second bank account.

U run the real risk now of becoming a media footnote. You're the pepper shaker that no one uses but keeps on their kitchen table for appearance. The best forum for you is a point/counterpoint show, NOT the third leg on the bottom.
