State Street announced an offering of shares and debt early this morning. Quoting from the Company's press Release: "Goldman Sachs & Co and Morgan Stanley are arranging the stock offering." Wanting to ensure that the deal goes well, and completely disregarding the law with regard to being restricted in companies which you are advising: 08:56 05/18 GOLDMAN SACHS RAISES STATE STREET CORP STT PRICE TARGET TO $45 Chinese Wall crumbles...because it suits Goldman Sachs to have it gone.

Do you ever wonder if or when their coup is complete (or maybe sooner??) agreed Rvacha. I believe ZeroHedge has it pretty welldocumented, though. Especially, when it comes to REIT's doing secondary stock offerings while getting upgraded.

Is it not established and accepted ground rule that it is fine to manipulate stocks up, it is only illegal if an effort is made to drop the price of stocks. Even if the effort is based on facts. One thing should be obvious, there will no sympathy from any quarter for anyone losing money while shorting/buying puts, no matter what illegal activities take place. It is a work place hazard for shorts. As I mentioned in another thread, banks have time until this November to raise capital. Hence it is possible that the market levitates well into the Fall, providing ample time to issue secondaries.

They did the same thing when the handled the secondary for SPG.....then they downgraded them about 10 days later

so who the **** bought these secondaries? I doubt, doubt very very much that even the most vain and clueless mutual funds would even consider it. Maybe the government bought it and then assign it to a hedge fund that is off balance sheet of US govt headquartered in Luxembourg? why do you care who bought it..a third party broker found a third party buyer who was willing to buy at a said price. what's the big effing deal. Private capital is in if they can buy at a huge haircut and flip the stock or hedge and short the damn thing to zero while picking up some CDS on the underlying target.....
