Given the news recently, my guess is that specter of a Chimerica unwind is on the rise. To this point, there was a big volume pop for the FXI (iShares FTSE China 25 Index Fund) at the end of the day yesterday (I don't know if this was a dump, however).

I suppose that it isn't impossible that Jamie and Fed got wind of something bad and imminent (China or otherwise), like arriving before 4:30PM Thursday, and felt the need for a ramp. Certainly the Fed's cover story, exonerating JPM, is full of holes.
