The ponds have recovered but it is time for some more rain, please.

Tree service guys will probably make a mint this year. Trees continue to drop limbs and dead trees need to come down. The drought last year stressed the red oaks so that they became susceptible to some sort of disease that is killing a bunch of old and big trees.

Today is a nice spring day. For the most part though, we have gone from a mild winter to early summer with very little in between. We've been using the air conditioner for over a week. This area often has a late freeze around Easter at the same time the dogwood trees bloom. Not this year. Didn't get enough cold nights to keep down the insect population. The flea beetles in the garden are tearing up the brassicas. My gardening buddy surprised me by saying that several of his fruit trees already have fruit growing.

Last year was plenty hot and dry. Time for some rain.
