****, I've seen old B&S that lasted 30+ years with absolutely no maintenance at all beyond beating the air filter against something hard when it couldn't suck enough air through to run right. Though it would smoke pretty bad when first started. No oil changes, just top up when low. It's like abuse just didn't matter. The one I'm thinking of is the one I mowed with when I was a kid. 20" cut, ~1.5 acres of yard. Usually took two days to mow it, 5-8 hours total (depending on how high I let it get first.) NE alabama, regularly well over 90 degrees. It was the same mower my stepfather used when he was a kid. Ran like a top though. I think it got left behind when we moved back to TN. 2012-05-03 06:30:35
