I got the same response as above. Here is my reply. Dear Senator Martinez; I thank you for your response. Unfortunately I did not make myself clear in my message to you. My main objection to the FED bailout of Bear Stearns is that a private organization has assumed control of government spending. Our Constitution is clear that all spending of public funds must originate in Congress; this was not done in this case, and I believe it sets a most dangerous precedent for our country. Unless you have no problem with various private/semi-private/or even government organizations taking over the power granted only to you and your colleagues by the Founding Fathers, I would humbly suggest that you investigate how this situation came about and take appropriate measures to chastise those responsible for usurping what is clearly a Congressional Issue; these people broke our laws and there must be consequences to assure that this does not happen in the future.
